Dominus Plus Clock Application.
Dominus plus Clock application is an innovative digital timepiece interface that revolutionizes time display through a distinctive domino-inspired dot pattern system. Designed by Albert Salamon in collaboration with Lukasz Grzejek, Lukasz Hostynski, and Robert Hnatyk, this interface design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design category in 2012, represents a sophisticated merger of functionality and artistic expression. The application employs three distinct groups of dots to represent hours, tens of minutes, and minutes, with color differentiation between AM (green) and PM (yellow) periods. This abstract interpretation of time measurement incorporates additional functionalities including a timer, alarm clock, and chimes, all accessible through an elegantly minimalist interface utilizing corner dot activation points. The design philosophy behind Dominus plus reflects a broader cultural discourse on the digitalization and dematerialization of everyday objects, offering a sci-fi aesthetic that harmoniously integrates with contemporary mobile devices. Its innovative approach to time visualization not only serves practical purposes but also transforms the user's relationship with time through an engaging, interactive experience. The interface's ability to function both vertically and horizontally demonstrates its adaptability, while its intuitive two-click timer setup exemplifies its user-centric design approach. The application represents a significant advancement in interface design, combining aesthetic sophistication with practical functionality in a manner that enhances both devices and interior spaces where it is displayed.
