Direction Indicator Signals For Vehicles
Direction indicator signals for vehicles, commonly known as turn signals or blinkers, are safety devices used to indicate the direction in which a driver intends to turn or change lanes. These signals are typically located on the front and rear of the vehicle and are activated by the driver using a lever or button on the steering column or dashboard. The primary purpose of turn signals is to alert other drivers and pedestrians of the driver's intentions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and improving overall traffic flow. Turn signals are especially important when merging onto highways, changing lanes, or making turns at intersections. Most turn signals use a flashing light to indicate the driver's intended direction. The flashing rate is typically around 60 to 120 times per minute, and the lights are usually amber in color. Some newer vehicles also have side-mounted turn signals or use LED lights for improved visibility. In many countries, turn signals are required by law and failure to use them can result in fines or penalties. It is important for drivers to use their turn signals consistently and appropriately, giving other drivers and pedestrians ample time to react to their intended movements.
