Dining Time Restaurant is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the sophisticated fusion of timepiece aesthetics with contemporary dining spaces. Located in Taiwan, this 357-square-meter, two-story establishment represents a masterful renovation of a three-decade-old structure, accommodating 110 patrons across multiple dining areas. The design concept, developed by Wei Chen Lin, draws inspiration from the refined elegance of gentleman's watches, incorporating elements such as blue and gold accents, cultural stone textures, and metallic trim work to create an atmosphere reminiscent of European vintage dining establishments. The space features innovative architectural solutions, including symmetrically divided routes enhanced by ceiling level designs that create visual depth, and strategically implemented slanting floor patterns to correct spatial irregularities. The ground floor, with its 3.6-meter ceiling height, houses staff areas, self-service sections, and essential facilities, while the second floor encompasses three private dining rooms. Notable design elements include concealed multimedia equipment and air-conditioning systems, wave panels on walls, curved counter designs, and mood lighting strips that collectively narrate the story of a gentleman awaiting his companion. The project, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, spatial organization, and atmospheric lighting design. The restaurant's design successfully transforms the traditional concept of a hot pot dining venue into a sophisticated, modern establishment where the interplay of materials, lighting, and spatial arrangement creates distinct dining experiences across both floors.
