Design Of Windshield Wipers
Windshield wipers are an essential safety feature in any vehicle that ensures a clear view of the road, especially during rainy or snowy weather conditions. Windshield wipers are designed to wipe away the rain, snow, or any other debris that accumulates on the windshield, enabling the driver to see the road better. To design an excellent windshield wiper, it should possess several crucial features. Firstly, it must be durable and able to withstand harsh conditions, such as hot and cold weather extremes, high-speed winds, and also remain functional after exposure to dirt, water, oil, and other road debris. The wiper blade should be made of high-quality materials like silicone, rubber or graphite composite. Secondly, the windshield wiper blade must adhere well to the shape of the car windshield to ensure maximum coverage and efficient removal of water and debris. The wiper should also be compact to avoid obstruction of the driver's view during operation. Thirdly, the wiper must operate quietly and smoothly to minimize distraction for the driver. The wiper blade must not generate any noise vibrations or streaks on the windshield. A good example of a windshield wiper is one that comes with variable speed settings allowing the driver to adjust wiper speed to suit different weather conditions. Lastly, reliance on traditional mechanical wipers is becoming outdated. Advanced designs that use water repellent solutions and ultrasonic waves offer better windshield visibility solutions. For instance, ultrasonic waves can blast any dirt, water and other debris off the windshield. The water-repellent solution creates a chemical barrier against water, and condensation that remains put for weeks; counterintuitive of traditional mechanical wipers.
