Design Of Sauna Heater Rocks

Design Of Sauna Heater Rocks

Sauna heater rocks refer to the stones that are placed on top of the electric or wood-burning sauna stove to heat the space. These rocks play a crucial role in creating the desired atmosphere and experience for sauna users. To design a good set of sauna heater rocks, it is important to consider the following criteria: 1. Size: The size and shape of the rocks are key. They should be large enough to retain heat but not so large that they are difficult to handle. A mix of different sizes can add interest and variability to the sauna experience. 2. Material: The type of stones used is also important. Sauna heater rocks should be dense and able to withstand high temperatures without cracking or exploding. Pure igneous rocks such as basalt, granite or diabase are common choices. 3. Texture: The texture of the rocks can affect the feel of the sauna. Rough, porous surfaces can provide a cozier experience, while smooth, polished stones may feel more luxurious. 4. Placement: Consider how the rocks will be arranged in the sauna. Ideally, they should cover a large surface area on top of the stove to provide even heat throughout the sauna. 5. Maintenance: Finally, the rocks should be easy to clean and maintain. They should not require special care or cleaning products that could be toxic to sauna users. Overall, a good set of sauna heater rocks should be carefully selected, arranged, and maintained to provide a comfortable and enjoyable sauna experience.
