Design Of Fabric Valances For Beds

Design Of Fabric Valances For Beds

Fabric valances are decorative pieces of fabric that hang from the edge of a bed, covering the bottom of the bed frame and concealing any items stored beneath the bed. They are usually made using lightweight, decorative fabric such as cotton, linen or silk and attached to the bed frame using pins, clips, or Velcro. A good design for fabric valances should have the following criteria: 1. Size: The size of the valance should match the size of the bed to ensure a snug and perfect fit. The height of the valance should be long enough to reach the floor and conceal any items under the bed. 2. Fabric Choice: The fabric of the valance should be chosen carefully, taking into consideration the style and color scheme of the room. The fabric chosen should complement the bedding and curtains. 3. Style: Valances can be designed in many styles, such as gathered or pleated. A good design should match the style of the room whether it is traditional, modern, or eclectic. 4. Quality of stitching: Ensure that stitching of the valance is neat and smooth to avoid it looking sloppy or unfinished 5. Easy to clean: The design should make it easy to clean the valance. The fabric used should be easily washable or dry cleanable. In conclusion, a well-designed fabric valance for beds should complement the style of the room, fit the size of the bed, use a carefully chosen fabric, be made with quality stitching, and be easy to clean.
