Design Of Fabric Bed Valances

Design Of Fabric Bed Valances

Fabric bed valances are a decorative and functional element that encompasses and conceals the space beneath a bed. They are often used to hide unsightly bed frames, under-bed storage or to complement the decor of the room. A well-designed fabric bed valance can enhance the overall aesthetic of the bedroom, contributing to the feeling of comfort and warmth. To design a good fabric bed valance, several criteria should be taken into consideration. Firstly, the valance should be properly fitted to the bed size, ensuring that it drapes evenly without sagging or dragging on the floor. Secondly, the chosen fabric should be of high quality, durable and with an appropriate texture and pattern that complements the rest of the bedding - this can range from linen to silk, to lace or even velvet. Thirdly, the color of the valance should be chosen to match the existing color scheme, or as a complementary contrast to the bedding or walls. Fourthly, the construction of the valance should be sturdy and well-sewn, with finished hems and clean lines. Finally, the valance should be easy to remove and clean, as they can collect dust or other particles over time. In conclusion, designing a fabric bed valance requires attention to detail, quality materials, color coordination, sturdy construction, and ease of cleaning.
