Design In Slovenia
Design in Slovenia has a long and storied history. It is closely tied to the development of modern concepts of art and design, as well as the social and cultural trends that have shaped the country as a whole. Throughout its history, Slovenian design has been strongly influenced by both international trends and local artistic movements. During the 19th century, for example, Slovenian painters and sculptors sought inspiration from the Romanticism and Realism movements of Europe. This influence was also evident at the turn of the 20th century when Slovenian artists experimented with elements of the Bauhaus and Art Nouveau movements. In the late 20th century, Slovenian designers embraced the philosophies of Postmodernism and the possibilities of new digital technologies. The result is a vibrant culture of design that is at once traditional yet forward-looking.
