Demagnetisers

Demagnetisers are devices used to remove unwanted magnetic fields from metallic objects. These objects can become magnetised through exposure to external magnetic fields or through the process of manufacturing. Demagnetisers work by generating a magnetic field that is opposite in polarity to the unwanted field, effectively cancelling it out. This process is known as degaussing. There are several types of demagnetisers available, each with its own unique characteristics and applications. The most common type is the handheld demagnetiser, which is used to demagnetise small metallic objects such as screws, tools, and electronic components. These devices typically consist of a coil of wire that is connected to a power source. When the power is turned on, an alternating magnetic field is generated, which neutralises any residual magnetism in the object. Another type of demagnetiser is the conveyor demagnetiser, which is used to demagnetise larger objects such as engine blocks, gears, and bearings. These devices consist of a conveyor belt that passes through a magnetic field, effectively demagnetising the objects as they pass through. Demagnetisers are commonly used in a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, and electronics manufacturing. They are also used in scientific research and in the restoration of antique and vintage objects.
