Delbar Khaneh Boutique Hotel

Delbar Khaneh Boutique Hotel

Delbar Khaneh Boutique Hotel is an architecturally significant hospitality establishment located in Yazd, Iran, representing a masterful renovation of an Afshar era historical residence. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2023 under the direction of architect Nima Keivani, exemplifies the sophisticated integration of traditional Persian architectural elements with contemporary design sensibilities. The hotel's design narrative is deeply rooted in a romantic historical context, inspired by the original structure's poignant origin story of an unfinished house intended for a beloved. Spanning 1,000 square meters within a 460-square-meter site, the hotel's interior design thoughtfully preserves and highlights original architectural features such as traditional brickwork and arched ceilings while incorporating modern amenities. The space is distinguished by its careful material selection, featuring traditional mud bricks, hand-sewn Suzani textiles, and custom glasswork that pays homage to Yazd's rich artisanal heritage. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of historical preservation and contemporary comfort, achieved through strategic lighting placement, custom-designed furniture inspired by cypress trees, and a sophisticated color palette that complements the building's original features. The project, which commenced in March 2021, demonstrates exceptional attention to cultural sensitivity and historical preservation, incorporating extensive research into Afsharid architecture and traditional craftsmanship. The hotel's spatial organization promotes an intuitive flow, creating intimate spaces that serve as private sanctuaries while maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere that allows guests to experience the authentic charm of Yazd's architectural heritage.
