Deaerators For Feedwater
Deaerators are devices used in power plants and other industrial facilities to remove dissolved gases, primarily oxygen, from feedwater before it enters the boiler. The presence of dissolved gases in feedwater can cause corrosion and other damage to the boiler and associated equipment, reducing efficiency and increasing maintenance costs. Deaerators work by heating the feedwater to near boiling point and then spraying it into a chamber where it is exposed to a stream of steam. The steam heats the water and strips out the dissolved gases, which are then vented to the atmosphere. There are two main types of deaerators: tray-type and spray-type. Tray-type deaerators use a series of trays to increase the surface area of the feedwater and promote the release of dissolved gases. Spray-type deaerators use a spray nozzle to distribute the feedwater into the steam stream, increasing the surface area and promoting mixing. Both types of deaerators can be used in combination with other equipment, such as preheaters and condensate pumps, to further improve efficiency and reduce costs. Deaerators are an essential component of many industrial processes, particularly those involving high-pressure boilers. They help to ensure that feedwater is free from dissolved gases, reducing the risk of corrosion and other damage to equipment. By improving efficiency and reducing maintenance costs, deaerators can help to increase the profitability of industrial operations.
