De Vinos Y Viandas Wine Shop
De Vinos Y Viandas Wine Shop is an innovative architectural retail space that revolutionizes the traditional wine shop concept through its distinctive design approach, earning recognition with the Platinum A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The project masterfully abstracts the wine world through a sophisticated architectural language that employs circumferences as its primary design motif, creating a harmonious blend of form and function. The space is architecturally defined by an intricate system of juxtaposed ribs that extend in multiple directions, generating a linear space reminiscent of ancient wine vaults. This 7m x 5.5m space, with a height of 3m, features a meticulously crafted assembly of 15 curved and 45 straight vertical oak boards, each 25mm thick, creating a rhythmic sequence of wooden elements that define the interior atmosphere. The design philosophy incorporates three primary materials: oak wood representing traditional wine barrels, stone flooring echoing historic cellars, and strategic mirror placement generating an ethereal atmosphere of reflections that suggest liquid containment. The interior program organically integrates essential functions including a counter, tasting table, and exhibition-sale space within its 5m² display area. The project's innovative approach to materials and space planning creates an immersive retail environment that pays homage to Spain's rich viticultural heritage while embracing contemporary design principles. The design's technical sophistication is evident in its modular construction system, which allows for flexible bottle storage up to 1.80m in height across 14 different levels, demonstrating exceptional attention to both aesthetic and functional requirements.
