DayPark Sales And Culture Center Property Office
DayPark Sales and Culture Center Property Office is a sophisticated mixed-use architectural project located in the heart of Shenzhen Bay, China, serving as both a sales office and a government-supported cultural exhibition center. Completed in 2017 under the creative direction of architect Yu Zhao, this 1,700-square-meter facility represents a harmonious blend of commercial functionality and cultural significance. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from jade craftsmanship, metaphorically expressed through an innovative combination of materials including grey tinted timber, Chinese paper, woolen felt, grey stone, and specialized TGCS surfaces. A distinctive feature of the space is its masterful manipulation of natural light, achieved through carefully positioned walls, partitions, and screening curtains that create an enfilade of atmospheric transitions. The central display hall showcases a remarkable installation comprising a library constructed from overlapping paper sheets framed by steel strips, complemented by a 9-meter-high screen that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. The project's exterior is characterized by a striking U-shaped glass facade that appears to float above a reflecting pool, where an installation of ancient green granite creates a compelling visual narrative about temporal transformation. The interior space planning demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, particularly in its three dedicated teahouses that incorporate elements of traditional Chinese culture, including tea ceremonies and martial arts. This innovative architectural achievement was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary commercial and cultural space design. The project exemplifies a successful integration of modern architectural principles with traditional Chinese cultural elements, creating a space that serves both commercial objectives and cultural enrichment.
