Day And Day Residential House

Day And Day Residential House

Day and Day Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2015 in Zhongli, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates Eastern philosophical principles with contemporary living spaces. The 231-square-meter residence, designed by Ding-Rui Tai, embodies a profound understanding of Chinese cultural symbolism while addressing modern lifestyle needs. The design's centerpiece is a thoughtfully positioned round dining table, which draws from the Chinese cultural significance of circles as symbols of family unity and reunion. The space features a sophisticated material palette including wood, marble, iron, stone, glass, plating titanium, and stainless steel, harmoniously combined to create a serene atmosphere. A distinctive dark green flooring symbolizes peace and tranquility, while carefully selected yellow accents reference imperial Chinese aesthetics, creating an environment that balances nobility with Zen-like simplicity. The interior seamlessly incorporates elements of calligraphy and tea ceremony traditions, reflecting Taiwan's multicultural heritage. Natural light plays a crucial role in the design, with its movement throughout the day creating dynamic shadow patterns that animate the serene spaces. The project, which was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning that prioritizes both functionality and emotional resonance, allowing for flexible use while maintaining a strong connection to traditional values and contemporary living patterns.
