Daniel Suter
Daniel Suter was a Czech-born artist who gained recognition for his modernist art, particularly in the field of abstract expressionism. He was born in the city of Hronov in 1946 and later moved to Germany in 1965 to pursue his studies in the Kunstakademie in Stuttgart. Suter's artistic career spanned several decades, during which he experimented with different styles and mediums, including painting, sculpture, and installation art. Suter's works were characterized by their bold use of color and form, often featuring abstract figures and shapes that challenged traditional notions of representation. His art was deeply influenced by his personal experiences and the social and political climate of his time, particularly the turbulent period of the 1960s and 70s. Throughout his career, Suter exhibited his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Europe and internationally. Some of his most notable works include Roma for Future, an installation created for the Czech Pavilion in the Venice Biennale in 2017, Schnittmenge, a large-scale sculpture placed in a square in Zurich, and Aquarius VI, a painting from the Aquarius series. Despite his success as an artist, Suter remained humble and dedicated to his craft, often working long hours in his studio to perfect his creations. He was known for his generosity and willingness to mentor young artists, inspiring a new generation of creatives to push the boundaries of art and expression.
