Daan L Residential

Daan L Residential

Daan L Residential is an exemplary interior design project that masterfully demonstrates the principles of spatial minimalism and material consistency in contemporary residential architecture. Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, this 120-square-meter residential space showcases an innovative approach to interior organization through the method of subtraction, where superfluous elements are deliberately removed to create a harmonious living environment. The design philosophy centers on creating a stress-free sanctuary for the homeowner, utilizing consistent materials throughout to extend the visual space without causing fatigue. The project's distinctive features include a U-shaped layout with a natural corridor flow, the strategic use of MOKU-patterned dark brown wood veneer, and natural marble flooring that enhances the perception of ceiling height through its reflective properties. The space planning demonstrates exceptional consideration for both public and private zones, with wooden flooring in the bedroom area serving as a subtle demarcation. Notable design elements include a thoughtfully crafted bed board that respects traditional Feng-Shui principles, avoiding beam placement and incorporating gentle circular forms. The main television wall features an artistic coating that maintains spatial consistency while providing subtle textural interest. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how indirect lighting and natural materials can create a refined, high-quality living space that serves both as a private retreat and an elegant setting for social gatherings.
