DA AN H HOUSE Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project located in Taipei City, Taiwan, that masterfully demonstrates innovative spatial planning and user-centric design principles. Completed in July 2014, this 195-square-meter interior space with an additional 73-square-meter outdoor area showcases a sophisticated approach to modern living through its seamless integration of functionality and aesthetics. The design, created by TAN SHU-CHING, features an open-plan layout that ingeniously connects the living room, dining room, and study space through fluid circulation patterns, while incorporating natural light and greenery from the balcony. Notable design elements include pet-specific access points in each family member's room, doorstep-less transitions for unimpeded movement, and innovative storage solutions such as magnetic spice jar shelving in the kitchen and customized study area trolleys. The project's emphasis on natural ventilation is achieved through strategically placed windows in each room, promoting energy efficiency and thermal comfort. The interior utilizes a carefully curated selection of materials including wood, veneer, stainless steel, metal, tile, wooden flooring, and wall coverings, with particular attention paid to the application of plywood and wood veneer under varying environmental conditions. The design's excellence was recognized with a Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2016, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential interior design through its combination of personalization, practicality, and innovative living solutions.
