Curve Residential

Curve Residential is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of organic forms and contemporary living spaces, distinguished by its unique water droplet-inspired architectural elements. Located in a central urban skyscraper in Ningbo, China, this 600-square-meter apartment represents a revolutionary approach to residential design, where traditional rectangular spatial configurations are reimagined through fluid, curved geometries. The project, designed by Wei Ping Lin and completed in 2022, demonstrates exceptional creativity in its conceptual framework, drawing inspiration from the natural formation of water droplets to create distinct living zones within the space. The design's sophisticated implementation employs Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) to achieve its signature curved walls and ceilings, while incorporating sustainable materials throughout, including low-VOC paints, large-format sintered stone flooring, and FSC/PEFC-certified cabinetry. The interior's thoughtful composition features innovative lighting solutions, utilizing stainless steel elements along windows to enhance natural light reflection and reduce artificial lighting requirements. This residential space, tailored for a young couple seeking both a private sanctuary and an entertainment venue, seamlessly integrates smart home technology to transition between various atmospheric modes. The project's exceptional merit in interior space design has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary residential architecture and its innovative approach to spatial design.
