Curva Vase Collection Vase is an innovative and versatile decorative vessel design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of form and function, created by Brazilian designer Bruno Oro De Abreu. Drawing profound inspiration from Oscar Niemeyer's architectural philosophy and the sensual curves found in nature, this collection represents a significant departure from traditional vase design through its fluid, organic forms and multifunctional approach. The collection, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, consists of three distinct pieces characterized by their sinuous curves and versatile applications. Manufactured using polypropylene through injection molding, the vases feature a sophisticated dual-body construction where inner and outer shells are separately produced and bonded during assembly, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and practical durability. Standing at 25 centimeters in height with an average radius of 8 centimeters, each piece in the collection is designed to serve multiple purposes beyond its primary function as a flower vase, functioning effectively as decorative sculptures, storage solutions, or even food containers. The design's innovative approach addresses a common consumer behavior pattern where traditional vases are often hidden away when not in use with flowers, instead creating pieces that maintain their aesthetic value independently. The broad color range offered in the collection enables users to create either energetic or calming atmospheres, making the vases adaptable to various interior design contexts. Developed between 2011 and 2014 across India and China, the project underwent extensive research and development, including 3D-printed prototyping to optimize ergonomics and water-carrying capacity, resulting in a product that successfully combines aesthetic sophistication with practical functionality.
