Cure & Care Pharmacy
Cure & Care Pharmacy is an innovative retail pharmacy design project that exemplifies the seamless integration of parametric design principles with functional healthcare spaces. Located in Kryoneri, Athens, this 80-square-meter interior space transformation represents a significant advancement in pharmaceutical retail design, featuring a distinctive custom shelving display system composed of twenty-four unique plywood veneer elements fabricated using 3-axis Computer Numerical Control routing technology. The design's cornerstone is its parametric variable curve system, which creates an intuitive visual field enabling visitors to comprehend the entire product display within seconds. This sophisticated approach to spatial organization maintains continuity between public shopping areas and private workspaces while incorporating essential pharmaceutical facilities including a laboratory, storeroom, and specialized medicine storage. The design draws inspiration from the local landscape and cultural heritage of Kryoneri, particularly its pine-forested surroundings, manifesting in the organic flowing forms of the wood elements. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, showcases technical innovation through its specialized flooring utilizing waterproof resinous cement for chemical resistance, integrated laboratory facilities with stainless steel fixtures, and a fourteen-meter transparent facade that serves as a visual connection to the surrounding community. The thoughtful integration of functional elements, including high-precision laboratory equipment, medicine drawers accessible from the till, and dedicated spaces for pharmaceutical preparation, demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of contemporary pharmacy operations while maintaining aesthetic excellence.
