Cuboid No 4 Office

Cuboid No 4 Office

Cuboid No 4 Office is an innovative interior design project located in Taipei's commercial district, distinguished by its sophisticated blend of industrial and British maritime aesthetics. Completed in April 2020, this 210-square-meter office space represents a departure from conventional office design through its implementation of semi-open planning and virtual-real spatial structuring techniques. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category in 2021, masterfully incorporates shipping container elements, black steering wheels, and round cabin windows to reflect the client's import-export trade business. The space features a progressive layout that includes employee office areas, supervisor offices, a conference room, pantry, rest space, and toilet facilities, with the strategic addition of a mezzanine level that maximizes the available vertical space. The material palette combines Pandomo, retro red brick, moru glass, LED light bars, iron mesh, iron plates, and titanium-plated metal, creating an atmosphere that balances industrial rawness with professional sophistication. The design's distinctive approach to spatial organization promotes employee interaction and mobility through staggered, semi-penetrating view patterns and retained high ceilings in selected areas, resulting in a multi-layered spatial experience that effectively addresses the challenges of providing optimal functionality within limited space while maintaining comfortable proportions between the upper and lower levels.
