Crystal Hotel is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in 2020, encompassing 8,000 square meters within Shanghai's Hongqiao Lvgu Plaza. The design concept revolves around the metaphorical and literal interpretation of crystal formations, employing smooth lines that seamlessly integrate ceiling, walls, and ground elements. The space is characterized by its sophisticated geometric composition, where functional partitions are delineated through a harmonious combination of interior lighting configurations and rhythmic segmentation. The design philosophy emphasizes a futuristic aesthetic achieved through metallic geometric symbols and three-dimensional beauty, creating a visual narrative that evokes the imagery of an ice age Crystal Tower. The project's distinctive approach to spatial organization extends both inward and outward, effectively dissolving traditional boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. Through careful material selection and level changes, the design creates a tranquil atmosphere that serves as a respite from urban intensity. The interior features strategic placement of greenery that forms a natural connection with visitors, while the crystal-clear main wall elements contribute to the space's distinctive character. This exceptional design, created by Jiaqiang Xu and Peilei Huang, earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to commercial hospitality design. The project successfully balances functional requirements with aesthetic excellence, incorporating sustainable design practices and cultural relevance while maintaining a strong focus on user experience and comfort.
