CRONUS Interior is an award-winning members' bar lounge designed by Aiji Inoue, located in Nishi-azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, that exemplifies sophisticated contemporary interior design through its innovative dual-aspect concept. This 150.55-square-meter space, completed in 2012, masterfully balances luxury and functionality while catering to executives seeking refined urban nightlife experiences. The design philosophy centers on the juxtaposition of contrasting elements, manifested through the thoughtful integration of natural and artificial materials, modern and traditional aesthetics, and public and private spaces. The interior features distinctive elements including floor-to-ceiling bookshelves creating a study-like atmosphere, natural rock face reliefs providing textural contrast, and a custom-made see-through wine cellar that serves as both a functional storage solution and an architectural divider. The space incorporates sophisticated materials such as Swarovski crystal chandeliers, champagne gold accents, and carefully designed furniture pieces, including specially crafted sofas and tables with precise dimensions optimized for comfort and functionality. A notable design innovation is found in the VIP room tables, which feature randomly-cut woods displayed within glass cases, embodying the project's dual-aspect concept through the interplay of stability and fragility. The lounge accommodates up to 88 guests and includes private areas accessible through discrete entrances, ensuring exclusivity for VIP members. This interior design project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning, material selection, and attention to detail, setting new standards for high-end hospitality design.
