Creative Incubators Office Space
Creative Incubators Office space is an innovative architectural transformation project that exemplifies adaptive reuse of a temporary structure from the Shanghai World Expo, converted into a dynamic collaborative workspace environment. The 4,200-square-meter facility showcases a remarkable integration of existing structural elements, particularly its distinctive spherical grid and intricate exposed steel framework, which were deliberately preserved and highlighted as aesthetic features rather than concealed. The design philosophy embraces the complex internal architecture, transforming structural intersections into sculptural elements that create three-dimensional visual interest throughout the space. To address energy efficiency concerns while maintaining the original structure's aesthetic integrity, a transparent film layer was implemented indoors, allowing natural light penetration while improving thermal performance. The space is thoughtfully divided into functional zones including office areas, public gathering spaces, product display sections, conference rooms, and café areas, all interconnected through carefully planned circulation paths and multiple indoor staircases. The interior palette combines light gray tones with natural wood elements, creating an atmosphere that harmonizes with the space's dynamic nature. Extensive indoor plantings and open circulation patterns promote a departure from conventional office environments, fostering creativity and collaboration. This platinum A' Design Award-winning project, designed by Rui Zhao and team, demonstrates exceptional innovation in interior space design through its successful balance of functional requirements, environmental considerations, and aesthetic preservation, while creating an inspiring environment for creative enterprises.
