Counter Flashing
Counter Flashing is an architectural technique designed to protect the junction of two surfaces from water penetration. This method is typically used to protect the roofing junctions of buildings, such as the areas where the roof meets the walls, chimney or skylight. The counter flashing is applied to the vertical surface and then bent over at the top to create a seal that is watertight and resistant to weathering. It can also be used in conjunction with other roofing materials such as shingles, siding and tiles. This technique has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its ability to provide a long-term solution to roofing problems.

Counter Flashing
Counter flashing is a term used in the field of architecture to refer to metal roofing products installed over roof openings such as chimneys, skylights, dormers, and wall flashings. It is typically made from lead, copper, aluminum, vinyl, or steel and is used to cover the gap between the roofing material and the structure to ensure a watertight seal. It also serves to protect the structure from water infiltration, providing an additional layer of protection. Counter flashing is designed to shed water away from the roof structure, thereby extending the life of the roof and preventing costly repairs. Its installation is a critical part of any roofing project, as it helps to make the structure more durable and reliable.
