Corner Lights House

Corner Lights House

Corner Lights House is an award-winning architectural masterpiece completed in 2018, representing a thoughtful transformation of a 45-year-old residence in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This innovative renovation project, designed by architect Tienyu Wu, exemplifies a harmonious blend of functionality, safety, and aesthetic refinement. The four-story structure, spanning impressive dimensions of 131800mm x 620000mm x 120000mm, was meticulously crafted to meet the specific needs of a retiring couple and their two daughters. The design philosophy centers on three primary objectives: ensuring security through a simple yet protective facade, maximizing views of the adjacent park, and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The architectural composition features a striking contrast between its robust exterior and welcoming interior spaces, employing materials such as painted stainless steel iron, Thuja plicata wood, and stone painting. Notable design elements include strategically positioned windows that capture natural light throughout the day and frame specific views of the surrounding landscape. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and incorporation of healthy, sustainable materials, including Greenkey De-formaldehyde Coating. The house's distinctive corner lighting concept creates dynamic visual effects while maintaining privacy through elevated wall designs, effectively balancing the clients' desire for both openness and security.
