CORAL VASE Flower Vase
CORAL VASE Flower Vase is an innovative and aesthetically sophisticated flower display system that revolutionizes traditional vase design through its integration of advanced 3D printing technology and conventional craftsmanship. Created by architect Steve Lee, this sculptural piece features eight individual branches interconnected in an organic form inspired by biological coral structures, each housing a removable 25mm x 150mm glass test tube for water and flower placement. The vase's distinctive design, measuring 358.9mm in width, 183.8mm in depth, and 458.2mm in height, employs a unique manufacturing process that combines PLA thermoplastic 3D printing with plaster casting, resulting in a structure that balances visual elegance with practical durability. The exterior shell, finished with protective polyurethane paint for thermal stability and wear resistance, showcases a highly glossy surface that enhances its premium aesthetic appeal. This Gold A' Design Award-winning creation stands out for its innovative approach to floral arrangement, offering florists and designers a versatile platform for creating dynamic, spatial compositions while addressing traditional vase limitations through its distributed water storage system. The design's structural integrity is achieved through a sophisticated truss-like system that evenly distributes weight to the base, allowing for taller and more complex floral arrangements while maintaining stability and visual lightness. The combination of advanced digital fabrication techniques with traditional craftsmanship demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to product design, where technology and artistry converge to create a functional sculpture that enhances interior spaces through its ability to showcase diverse floral arrangements at varying heights and configurations.
