Convolo Swimming Pool

Convolo Swimming Pool

Convolo Swimming Pool is an innovative architectural design project located in Southern Taiwan that exemplifies the harmonious integration of modern leisure facilities with natural landscapes. Designed by Taylor Cheng, this 450-square-meter swimming pool complex represents a sophisticated approach to sustainable resort development, where the structure appears to emerge organically from its emerald surroundings. The design, whose name Convolo refers to flying together with others, creates a vital space that facilitates human interaction while maintaining a deep connection with nature. The project showcases remarkable architectural elements including stark cubist volumes, tropical aesthetic timber salt facades, and polished concrete platforms, all carefully selected to complement the surrounding environment. The structure incorporates earth-toned materials and textures, complemented by hidden gardens and diverse plant species that reflect the natural setting. Notable technical achievements include the pool's robust structural design, capable of withstanding Taiwan's extreme weather conditions, including typhoon-force winds reaching 80 mph. The facility features an infinity pool offering panoramic ocean views, outdoor seating areas integrated with fern plantings, and terraced fields that follow the natural hillside morphology. Completed in November 2017, this Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining functional design with environmental consciousness, creating a peaceful coexistence between built structure and natural landscape.
