Connection Apartment Interior Design

Connection Apartment Interior Design

Connection Apartment Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2018, showcasing a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic refinement in a 150-square-meter apartment space in Taichung City, Taiwan. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to contemporary living through its thoughtful spatial organization and material selection. The project's distinctive features include the innovative use of natural light, the replacement of cold stone materials with warm timber elements, and a carefully planned layout that facilitates multiple family activities. The design's spatial flow is enhanced through a rotating TV wall that breaks traditional boundaries, creating enhanced layering and fluidity between different functional zones. Notable design elements include unique curved ceiling treatments that elegantly conceal structural elements, the implementation of environmentally conscious materials such as Lotos (a sustainable material developed from recycled reservoir sludge), and a sophisticated lighting scheme that creates varied luminosity levels. The interior's color palette emphasizes soft, muted tones that promote a sense of tranquility, while the furniture selection maintains simplicity to highlight individual characteristics of each piece. The space is divided into distinct functional areas including a foyer, living room, reading room, master bedroom, guest bedroom, three bathrooms, dining room, and kitchen, with material transitions marking the separation between public and private zones. The design's commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of low-toxicity materials and eco-friendly finishes, considering the significant amount of time residents spend at home.
