Connecting Interior Design

Connecting Interior Design is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan, encompassing 138 square meters of thoughtfully integrated living spaces. The design philosophy centers on the concept of connectivity, both in spatial arrangement and family dynamics, creating a harmonious flow between different functional areas while maintaining aesthetic sophistication. The project's centerpiece is a grandiloquent living room featuring a striking grey world map painted on a expansive mirror wall, symbolizing global perspectives and sophisticated taste. The space planning demonstrates exceptional efficiency through the strategic connection of the foyer to the dining room and cooking facilities, while the public areas seamlessly integrate the kitchen, dining room, living room, and reading area to foster closer family relationships. Notable design elements include two artistically conceived exhibit cabinets that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes, an elegantly designed L-shaped sofa complemented by a lower marble wall that cleverly delineates the reading space, and the sophisticated use of materials including fine marbles, polished tiles, woods, and black ironwork details that create a noble yet welcoming atmosphere. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how thoughtful spatial planning and material selection can enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal while promoting family connectivity. The design successfully balances grandeur with practicality, incorporating storage solutions and multi-functional spaces that cater to modern living requirements while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the interior.
