Connect Circulate Residential

Connect Circulate Residential

Connect Circulate Residential is an innovative interior architectural design project that exemplifies modern minimalist aesthetics and functional spatial planning, completed in June 2019 in Taichung City, Taiwan. This two-story residential space, encompassing approximately 595 square meters, showcases a revolutionary approach to vertical connectivity and open-plan living. The design, conceived by Sung Hsing Lee and Yi Chun Du, features a striking double-height living room that functions as a multifunctional gallery-like space, facilitating family gatherings and social interactions. The project's distinguishing feature is its avant-garde cantilever staircase design, which breaks from conventional architectural norms while maintaining structural integrity and safety. The interior space harmoniously integrates various functional areas, including four bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor, complemented by three master bedroom suites on the second floor. The design employs pure linear proportions and simple material selections, including wood veneer, tiles, stove finish, metals, and wood flooring, creating a cohesive aesthetic throughout. Natural light plays a crucial role in the design, with strategic openings maximizing daylight penetration and establishing strong visual connections with the outdoor environment. The project's excellence in interior space design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial organization and circulation.
