Confucianism House Private House

Confucianism House Private House

Confucianism House Private house is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese philosophical principles with contemporary living spaces. Located in Guangzhou's Haizhu District, this 300-square-meter private residence, completed in 2016, represents a sophisticated interpretation of Confucian values through architectural design elements. The project, designed by TACCO LEE with assistance from ALICE LEE and YAN TSUI, demonstrates an exceptional balance between strength and tenderness, manifested through the thoughtful selection of materials including black steel, warm wood, gray stone, and cement finishes. The design's centerpiece features an impressive floor-to-ceiling black steel bookshelf, reflecting the owner's scholarly pursuits and intellectual disposition. The space was specifically crafted for a highly educated, unmarried professional in his forties who lives with his parents, incorporating a reading room that seamlessly connects to the living area to accommodate both work and family life. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of modern luxury and understated elegance, with every detail - from lighting fixtures to furnishings - carefully selected to reflect the resident's refined character and educational background. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative space utilization through the transformation of balcony areas and the implementation of practical, purposeful design elements that transcend mere aesthetics. The interior architecture demonstrates a profound understanding of Confucian principles, where the balance between rigorous and loose elements creates a living environment that honors both traditional Chinese values and contemporary lifestyle needs.
