Commons-Based Design
Commons-Based Design is a way of creating things where many people share ideas, resources, and skills to solve problems together, often using what is available in their local area. In Social Ecology, this approach helps communities work with nature and each other, using local materials and knowledge to make designs that fit their environment and culture. Designers using Commons-Based Design in Social Ecology often set up workshops or open spaces where everyone can join in, learn, and help build useful things like gardens, furniture, or public spaces. This method helps people care for their surroundings and each other, making sure resources are used wisely and everyone has a say in how things are made.
