Coming Home Interior Design
Coming Home Interior Design is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2015 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, that exemplifies a harmonious blend of open space planning and contemporary living solutions. The 102-square-meter residence showcases an innovative approach to modern living spaces through its unsophisticated yet elegant design philosophy, emphasizing the seamless integration of humanity and nature. Distinguished by its thoughtful spatial organization, the design incorporates exposed ceiling pipes that create an enhanced sense of verticality while maintaining industrial aesthetics. The project features strategic use of medium density fiberboards on walls, which not only serve functional purposes such as concealing utility elements but also establish a cohesive visual dialogue with dark wooden floors. Notable design elements include six aesthetically integrated air diffusers in the dining room that maintain functionality without compromising visual appeal, and a naturally lit corridor that maximizes the connection with exterior views. The interior demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection and spatial flow, creating an environment that balances openness with comfort. This design, created by Chien-Ling Liu, represents a departure from traditional interior approaches by prioritizing both spatial expansion and lifestyle considerations, ultimately fostering a meaningful connection between the residence and its inhabitants. The project's excellence in interior space design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative use of space and material selection excellence.
