Colors Urban Hotel Hotel

Colors Urban Hotel Hotel is a distinguished boutique accommodation establishment located in Thessaloniki, Greece, occupying a historically significant listed building from 1925 originally designed by Hasid Fernandez and Jacques Pleyber. The 1,160-square-meter property exemplifies a harmonious fusion of historical preservation and contemporary hospitality design, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The architectural composition features a distinctive three-part facade characterized by wide openings, pilasters, and a commanding central atrium, with views spanning both Tsimiski and Agiou Mina streets. The interior design concept revolves around thematic rooms, each uniquely crafted around motifs such as nature, music, cinema, comics, astronomy, and literature, manifested through custom-designed furniture, distinctive color schemes, and specialized graphic elements. The spatial organization follows the tripartite facade division, with three rooms positioned at the front and back of each floor, complemented by a central room opening to the atrium. The property introduces an innovative room layout typology, featuring centrally-positioned beds with desk arrangements behind them, open wardrobes, and integrated office spaces. The design successfully preserves original architectural elements, including decorative features and ceiling plasterwork, while incorporating visible mechanical installations and distinctive copper-colored elevators and railings. The ground floor houses the reception area, while the first floor accommodates administrative offices, spa facilities, and auxiliary spaces. The hotel's distinctive characteristics include floor-to-ceiling windows spanning the full width of each room, enhanced spatial allowances compared to typical hotel rooms, and the innovative incorporation of elevated secondary beds facilitated by the generous ceiling heights. This thoughtful renovation project, completed in October 2016, represents a successful marriage of historical preservation and modern hospitality design, creating an environment that caters to contemporary travelers while honoring the building's architectural heritage.
