Colorful Life Interior Design
Colorful Life Interior Design is an innovative architectural and interior design project completed in 2017, situated adjacent to a night market in Xituan District, Taichung City, Taiwan. This distinctive installation comprises multiple containers of varying dimensions, strategically positioned within a public space encompassed by natural vegetation, serving as both creative studios and exhibition spaces for contemporary artists. The design, conceptualized by Sheng-Hsin Hsu, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to temporary artistic spaces through its unique treatment of containers, each fundamentally painted white and enhanced with distinctive color splashes to create individual artistic identities. The 143-square-meter space incorporates traditional Chinese philosophical elements, particularly evident in the reception area's design, which draws inspiration from the Five Elements theory, harmoniously blending diverse materials including wood, rattan, and leather. The service center exemplifies this design philosophy through its thoughtful integration of various textures and colors within a predominantly white space. The project's innovative approach to mobile art spaces and its contribution to public art accessibility earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design and cultural integration. The design's significance lies in its successful fusion of functionality and artistic expression, creating a dynamic environment that facilitates interaction between artists and the public while addressing sustainability through the creative repurposing of shipping containers.
