Clean Rim Paper Cup Paper Cup

Clean Rim Paper Cup Paper Cup is an innovative disposable beverage container design that features a distinctive 11-degree sloping rim, specifically engineered to address hygiene concerns in stacked cup dispensing scenarios. This groundbreaking design, created by Yinshuai Zhang, Yiqi Sun, and Yinan Li, represents a significant advancement in single-use product design by incorporating a thoughtful architectural solution that prevents rim contamination through minimal contact during retrieval. The cup's unique geometry creates a deliberate spacing between stacked units, enabling users to grasp individual cups without touching the drinking surfaces of adjacent containers, thereby maintaining optimal hygiene standards. This design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Disposable and Single-Use Product Design category, demonstrates how subtle structural modifications can yield substantial functional improvements. The 11-degree incline not only serves its primary hygienic purpose but also provides enhanced functionality for water dispensing and pouring operations. The design's dimensions of 77mm x 77mm x 94mm are carefully calibrated to maintain stability while incorporating the innovative rim feature. Following the Chinese philosophical principle of using 4 tael to influence 1000 catty, this design exemplifies how minimal interventions can create significant impact, particularly in addressing public health concerns in everyday objects. The cup's design journey encompasses multiple touch points throughout its lifecycle, from hygienic storage and retrieval to improved functionality during use, representing a holistic approach to product design that prioritizes user experience and safety.
