City Point Private Residence
City Point Private Residence is an award-winning metropolitan-themed private residential interior design project that masterfully transforms a compact urban living space in Hong Kong into a sophisticated dwelling for seven occupants. The design, completed in 2016, draws profound inspiration from the surrounding urban landscape, effectively extending the dynamic cityscape into the living environment through thoughtful architectural elements and aesthetic choices. The interior scheme employs a sophisticated dark color palette, strategically illuminated through multiple LED light sources and light troughs to create dramatic visual effects and spatial hierarchy. The design's metropolitan character is reinforced through the innovative use of mosaic, paintings, and digital prints featuring high-rise buildings, seamlessly integrating the urban context into the living space. Despite spatial constraints, the residence demonstrates exceptional space optimization through careful planning and functional considerations, including the strategic expansion of the maid's quarters to 21 square feet and the reconfiguration of the master bedroom wall. The design incorporates premium materials and furnishings, including dark brown walnut wood, grey wallpaper, black-steel dining elements, and black velvet curtains, creating a luxurious atmosphere while maintaining functionality. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design, showcases innovative solutions for urban living challenges, particularly in its treatment of the bay window area, which was transformed into a functional sideboard to maximize space utility.
