City Heart Exhibition Hall
City Heart Exhibition Hall is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies a thoughtful approach to urban exhibition spaces, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design. Located in Chongqing, China, this 90-square-meter exhibition space represents a paradigm shift in how urban narratives are presented, deliberately moving away from conventional symbolic representations to create a more experiential and contemplative environment. The design philosophy centers on understanding cities through multiple perspectives, utilizing raw materials like soil and weathered steel to create a powerful dialogue between urban development and environmental consciousness. The space features distinctive architectural elements, including continuous peaks formed by stacked acrylic pieces that create an atmospheric effect, while the intentional use of basic materials in their natural state serves as a commentary on sustainable design practices. The exhibition hall's three-cornered spatial arrangement effectively condenses the city's expression, offering visitors a unique vantage point to explore urban construction and development through an innovative lens. The designer, Ling Zhou, implemented a reverse-thinking approach that encourages visitors to view the city through fresh eyes, moving beyond surface-level observations to deeper urban connections.
