Citroen In Lines Illustration

Citroen in lines Illustration is an innovative graphic design project that presents an artistic timeline of automotive history through minimalist vector illustrations, created by Bulgarian animator and illustrator Nikolay Ivanov. This comprehensive visual narrative encompasses 70 distinct vehicle models, employing a sophisticated approach that utilizes only simple strokes and transparent effects to capture the essence and evolution of automotive design. The project, completed in 2015, distinguishes itself through its unique artistic methodology, where varying stroke widths and multiply effects create depth and dimension against a pristine white background, deliberately avoiding solid colors to maintain its distinctive aesthetic appeal. The illustration series demonstrates exceptional technical prowess in vector artwork, while simultaneously serving as a historical documentation tool that chronicles significant automotive developments. This work garnered international recognition when it received the Golden A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category in 2016, acknowledging its innovative approach to visual storytelling and technical excellence. The project's significance lies not only in its artistic merit but also in its ability to democratize automotive history, making it accessible and engaging for both enthusiasts and casual observers through its clean, minimalist aesthetic. The emotional resonance of the work is achieved through careful attention to detail and thoughtful color selection, creating a virtual museum experience that bridges past and present through design.
