Chuan Villa Residential House

Chuan Villa Residential House

Chuan Villa Residential House is an exemplary residential architectural project located in the serene Dapeng Peninsula on the East coast of Shenzhen, China, embodying a harmonious fusion of contemporary design principles with Japanese Zen philosophy. Completed in 2019 under the creative direction of designer Dickson Xie, this 720-square-meter villa masterfully integrates minimalist aesthetics with functional sophistication. The interior design scheme, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases an innovative material palette combining low-gloss gold metal and marble, with curved design elements that effectively soften the spatial dynamics. The project's conceptual foundation draws from the Zen principle of everything is in nothing, deliberately stripping away superfluous decorative elements to achieve a pure, essential aesthetic. Notable design features include an environmentally conscious ceiling treatment that maximizes natural light penetration, creating a transparent living experience throughout the space. The villa's sophisticated layout incorporates a linear design approach in the guest dining area, departing from traditional Chinese round table configurations to establish a seamless flow between entertainment and dining zones. The master bedroom exemplifies the project's attention to detail, featuring palm wood flooring complemented by beige hemp walls and Japanese hand-painted silk artworks that create subtle spatial hierarchies. The integration of movable wooden grid elements introduces a dynamic quality to the otherwise tranquil environment, while the dedicated tea ceremony space reflects the owner's appreciation for Japanese cultural traditions, providing a contemplative retreat from urban life. This residential masterpiece demonstrates exceptional spatial planning, material selection, and lighting design, creating an environment that successfully balances aesthetic refinement with practical functionality.
