Cheerful Contented Residential Space
Cheerful Contented Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of vintage industrial features with modern minimalist aesthetics, completed in 2021 in New Taipei City. This 72.73-square-meter dwelling space, designed by Andersen Chiu and Elma Hsu, showcases a sophisticated approach to contemporary living through its thoughtful integration of black and gray color schemes, creating a stable and imposing ambiance. The design's distinctive features include snap-together laminate flooring with imitated fair-faced concrete texture, strategically implemented to overcome potential cracking issues while maintaining the desired industrial aesthetic. The space demonstrates exceptional innovation in its dual-purpose wall design between the master bedroom and living room, functioning as both a wardrobe and TV cabinet, exemplifying efficient space utilization. The interior's layout was reconfigured to optimize functionality, particularly evident in the repositioning of the master bedroom entrance to enhance spatial flow. The design team's meticulous attention to material selection and color coordination creates a cohesive environment that seamlessly blends public and private areas, while maintaining distinct functional zones through similar-toned materials and furnishings. This project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in residential interior design, particularly for its successful integration of contrasting design elements and practical solutions for modern living requirements. The space's thoughtful consideration of the family's diverse needs is reflected in the adaptable design elements, including the use of cloth materials that allow for future modifications, and the specially designed kid's room with optimized tonal brightness.
