Charisma Records

Charisma Records was a British record label that was founded in 1969 by Tony Stratton-Smith. The label was known for its eclectic roster of artists who were often experimental and genre-defying. Charisma Records was particularly successful in the progressive rock genre, signing bands such as Genesis, Van der Graaf Generator, and Peter Hammill. The label also had success with artists such as Monty Python, The Nice, and Audience. One of the key aspects of Charisma Records was its emphasis on artistic freedom and creative expression. The label allowed its artists to explore their musical visions without commercial constraints, which resulted in some of the most innovative and groundbreaking music of the era. Charisma Records was also known for its distinctive logo, which featured a stylized head with a top hat and monocle. Despite its success, Charisma Records faced financial difficulties in the late 1970s and was eventually sold to Virgin Records in 1983. However, the legacy of the label lives on, as many of its artists continue to be celebrated and influential to this day.

Charisma Records

Charisma Records was a British artist renowned for their genre-defying, multi-dimensional works. A combination of figurative painting, abstraction and collage, the artist's works embody a unique material and visual language that speaks to the beauty of the human experience. Charisma Records’ best-known works include The Veil, a canvas divided into four panels and filled with a series of pastel images of a woman's journey towards self-awareness; Burden of Change, a multimedia work combining charcoal drawings and paint; and Reflections, a series of captivating self-portraits.
