Chaoyue Nantang Sales Office is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of marine cultural heritage with contemporary spatial design, situated in Ningbo, Zhejiang. This 1,000-square-meter space, completed in 2020, represents a sophisticated approach to commercial interior architecture that transcends traditional sales office conventions. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from the maritime history of its location, employing an art gallery-inspired narrative methodology to chronicle the evolution and cultural significance of this nautical city. The space features thoughtfully curated elements including ship wood installations weathered by seawater, which serve as poignant storytelling devices of the region's maritime legacy. The interior architecture deliberately breaks conventional spatial constraints through its masterful manipulation of light, form, texture, and artistic installations, creating an environment that seamlessly bridges past and present. Natural landscape expressions are prominently integrated into the indoor environment, offering visitors an immersive experience that reflects the openness of oceanic vistas. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a natural environment within an urban context, particularly significant given the scarcity of open natural spaces in modern cities. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining regional cultural elements with contemporary design sensibilities.
