Cense of Poem Incense Packing is an innovative packaging design solution that artfully conceptualizes the sensory experience of burning incense through a sophisticated combination of form, material, and visual elements. Created by designers Wei-Hsuan Liu and Hsin-Hsuan OuYang, this design system employs translucent acrylic boxes with matte wrapping to materialize the ethereal nature of incense smoke, while incorporating distinct color schemes that correspond to different incense varieties. The design, which won a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, features three distinct series symbolized by punctuation marks: a yellow variant representing the comma (signifying pause and reflection), an aquamarine version depicting the dash (symbolizing life's continuity), and a purple edition featuring the exclamation mark (embodying surprise and anticipation). Each box, available in dimensions of 110mm×110mm×40mm and 70mm×70mm×55mm, is enhanced with specific graphic designs that harmonize with the characteristics and aromatic profiles of the enclosed incense sticks. The design philosophy centers on the concept of poetry, drawing parallels between life's journey and the act of writing, where the incense sticks serve as textual characters and the holder functions as the paper bearing emotional resonance.
