Cathay Ins Office

Cathay Ins Office

Cathay Ins Office is an innovative interior design project completed in June 2022 in Taipei City, Taiwan, representing a sophisticated reimagining of contemporary workplace design that earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The 998-square-meter space serves as a digital technology development center, masterfully blending industrial style elements with modern aesthetics to create a dynamic and functional work environment. The design, conceived by Ian Chen, challenges traditional office stereotypes through its thoughtful integration of a central multi-functional area featuring a distinctive ocean blue canopy, while maintaining exposed structural elements such as pipes and ducts that contribute to its industrial character. The space employs a sophisticated material palette including stone, wood fiber board, stainless steel, and tempered glass, creating a harmonious balance between raw industrial elements and refined modern finishes. Notable design features include a transparent layout with an open sofa area that functions as a natural traffic flow divider, complemented by a bar area and projection space that implements an innovative stage effect concept. The design's flexibility is enhanced through the use of sliding doors and movable partitions, allowing the space to adapt to various functions and group sizes. The entrance area showcases sandblasted glass screens that maintain privacy while optimizing natural light distribution, with symmetrical ceiling arcs that create an expansive visual effect. The thoughtful integration of highly saturated complementary-colored sofas alongside earthy-toned furnishings introduces warmth to the otherwise industrial framework, while the implementation of square carpeting helps define distinct functional zones within the open-plan layout.
