Cascahuin Tequila

Cascahuin Tequila is a meticulously crafted premium spirits packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary design aesthetics. Developed through an intensive six-month design process in Mexico during 2020, this innovative packaging solution features distinctive modifications to the bottle's mouth, ring, and neck, incorporating a sophisticated cork stopper sealing system and a high-relief brand icon that establishes a commanding visual presence. The design philosophy draws profound inspiration from pre-Hispanic ancestral crafts, materials, and celestial navigation practices, embodying three fundamental elements that influence blue agave agricultural processes: earth, stars, and time. The visual identity employs pastel pigments to represent earthen textures, while the stellar elements symbolize cultivation cycles, creating a rhythmic narrative that captures the essence of the agave landscape. The packaging's dimensions of 70mm x 70mm x 260mm are precisely engineered to accommodate the blow-molded sodium-calcium glass container, featuring intricate details that required exceptional manufacturing precision. The design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to combining functional efficiency with cultural storytelling. The creative direction, led by Ana Paula Santana and Product Designer Irving Jimenez, successfully overcame significant technical challenges in blown glass manufacturing to achieve refined details that parallel the sophistication of stone-carved cork elements. The design's conceptual depth is further enhanced by the symbolic incorporation of a bowl motif, representing the vessel of life and time, drawing from pre-Hispanic traditions of using jícaras and vessels as sacred containers.
