Casa Marina Interior Design

Casa Marina Interior Design

Casa Marina Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project located in Tai Po, Hong Kong, showcasing a masterful interpretation of minimalist design principles across an eight-storey house spanning 2,006 square feet. Completed in September 2019 by designer Matthew Li, this sophisticated project demonstrates exceptional spatial planning within a challenging half-layered structure, where each level contains individual rooms connected by intermediate staircases. The design's distinctive approach employs a carefully curated palette of fewer than five colors throughout the space, creating a harmonious and consistent aesthetic experience that perfectly aligns with the owner's personality and the building's architectural framework. Notable design solutions include the strategic installation of stylized chandeliers and wall lamps, which serve both decorative purposes and effectively manage the visual proportions of the high-ceiling environments. The project successfully addresses the unique challenges presented by the disproportionate ceiling heights through thoughtful color application, with darker tones in naturally lit areas like the living room and kitchen to balance lighting contrasts, while lighter hues in upper levels create a more intimate atmosphere. The design incorporates functional innovations such as the transformation of standard bedrooms into specialized spaces, including a sophisticated bathroom featuring a centerpiece lily-white bathtub and a boutique-inspired cloakroom. Wooden elements are strategically integrated throughout the design to mitigate potential monotony and create a seamless connection between the interior spaces and the private garden. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its thoughtful response to spatial challenges, commitment to minimalist principles, and successful integration of functional solutions that enhance the living experience.
