Casa Chiavelli Private Home Private Home

Casa Chiavelli Private Home Private Home is a masterfully renovated architectural project that transformed a traditional farming house and its annex in the northern Veneto region of Italy into a contemporary residential dwelling. This significant architectural intervention, completed between 2006 and 2010, exemplifies the delicate balance between preserving historical architectural elements and introducing modern design sensibilities. The project, spanning over 500 square meters across multiple levels, demonstrates exceptional spatial organization with three levels in the main residential block and two in the annex, complemented by a functional basement housing a cellar connected to the garage above. The design philosophy centered on maintaining a harmonious dialogue between interior and exterior spaces, capitalizing on the serene hillside setting while preserving the structure's original architectural character. The renovation employed a thoughtful material palette primarily consisting of steel, wood, and glass, introducing contemporary elements while respecting the building's historical fabric. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases innovative space utilization and sustainable design practices. Under the direction of architect Filippo Caprioglio, along with team members Francesco Soldo and Barnaba Bortoluzzi, the renovation process spanned four years, encompassing both design development and construction phases. The project's success lies in its ability to create modern living spaces that honor the original structure's agricultural heritage while meeting contemporary lifestyle needs, demonstrated through careful material selection, proportional considerations, and the integration of interior spaces with the surrounding landscape.
