Carp Leap The Tea

Carp Leap The Tea is an innovative packaging design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Oriental tea culture with contemporary aesthetic principles. This sophisticated tea packaging concept, created by designers Xiang Qian, Deng Zhehao, and Yao Wenliang, employs narrative design elements to tell a compelling story through three distinct stages: leaping over the dragon's gate, surpassing oneself, and enjoying life, symbolizing the entrepreneurial journey. The design incorporates traditional Chinese elements such as fish, dragon, and pine motifs, rendered through modern visual interpretation to appeal to contemporary sensibilities while maintaining cultural authenticity. The packaging's physical manifestation features meticulous attention to detail, utilizing advanced production techniques including three-dimensional embossing, bronzing processes, and sophisticated structural elements measuring 35.5cm x 25.5cm x 6.75cm. The design solution addresses the complex challenge of creating business gift products that resonate with diverse professional audiences while maintaining ceremonial gravitas and cultural significance. The project, which was executed between June and August 2018 in Changsha, Hunan Province, demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship through its crystal-glaze teacup construction and innovative use of shock-absorbing materials for product protection. The design's excellence was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its contribution to elevating industry standards through its innovative approach to cultural storytelling and visual communication. The project's success lies in its ability to transcend simple decorative elements, instead creating a deeply meaningful narrative that connects with its target audience through sophisticated symbolic representation and contemporary aesthetic standards.
